antmoo Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 i've booked flights from UK for 6 nights in Vegas over March/April 2010looking for a room for 2 in a 5* hotel - ideally Bellagio, Venetian or one of the new casino free hotelswhat's the best way of getting a deal - HOTWIRE or PRICELINE? like others on here i don't wish to end up at the Trumpgrateful for any helpthanksant
thereuare Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 ...or one of the new casino free hotels...If not the Trump, what 'casino free' hotels are you refering to?What is your maximum budget per nite (before fees and taxes) for this stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. antmoo Posted October 8, 2009 Author Report Posted October 8, 2009 Thanks for your response - by non casino I'm thinking of the new Mandarin Oriental or the AriaRegarding maximum rate I'd like to pay no more than $150-160 pre tax if possibleMany thanks
thereuare Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 There is no way to avoid the Trump if you choose to bid on PRICELINE... other than avoiding the North Strip zone entirely (which leaves you with only one 'known' 5* hotel in the South Strip)Searching HOTWIRE for your dates there is a 5* hotel in the Central Strip for $169/nite with:Resort, Suite, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, SpaThis is a match for the Palazzo so that would be my best guess, but more importantly, you know it's not the Trump which you're hoping to avoid, since that property doesn't have a Casino.Would this work for your needs? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. antmoo Posted October 10, 2009 Author Report Posted October 10, 2009 thanks for the Hotwire information. Do you think as that deal seems readily available we should be trying to get it even cheaper through bidding? $169 seems ok but if i can get it cheaper i'd be great! what's the only 5* on the south of the strip - mandalay bay? i'd be happy with that for example
thereuare Posted October 10, 2009 Report Posted October 10, 2009 There is no way to target the Palazzo on a PRICELINE bid, so if you're trying to avoid the Trump, it wouldn't be safe to bid on PRICELINE since trying for the Palazzo would subject you to receiving the Trump. If you mean only bidding the South Strip zone for hopes of a better price, you could certainly try; THEhotel (inside the Mandalay Bay) is the only 'known' 5* hotel in this zone, but it is won somewhat infrequently, so i would suspect your chances are somewhat low (and there could be other 'unknown' 5* hotels in this zone not yet reported to the board... Bellagio and possibly the new City Center project once opened)Also note that while the current HOTWIRE offering is 'readily' available, it coudl disappear at any time... replaced with a different hotel entirely and the price could be higher (or lower) as well.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
