TheRipper Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Hello, I have been perusing this board a few times and find it helpful and finally joined up. I am going to Las Vegas with my mom Nov. 4 to the 7th and still need to book a room. I've noticed that the room rates are high due to the SEMA convention and PBR World Finals. We would like to stay somewhere on the south strip or even central or north end of the strip would be fine. Max bid would be about $100/night in a 3.5* or up hotel. What would be the best strategy in my bidding? Should I just start at the top with a 5* and work my way down from there?
thereuare Posted October 8, 2009 Report Posted October 8, 2009 Realistically if you were successful at the 5* level i'm guessing it would mostly likely be at the Trump, which in addition to your winning bid amount, also has a ~$16 resort fee... would this be ok budget-wise (as well, the Trump is in PRICELINE's North Strip zone, but is actually slightly off-strip)Let us know and we'll then either proceed for that OR with 4* options. (also note, at the 4* level the Westin (which also charges a resort fee) is located slightly off-strip, but is still in PRICELINE's South Strip zone... make sure you're ok with these 'slightly off-strip' options)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Once my mom gets back from her trip to Michigan tomorrow night, we will go ahead and start with the bidding and see what we come up with.
