ulbass Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 I'm trying to figure out when the best time woudl be to try to book this hotel for our honeymoon in May 2010. It seems the closer you book to your travel date, the cheaper the rate may be; however, it can also go in the opposite direction (aka rates increase closer to the travel date). Also, if I were to "book" 2 or 3 nights on Priceline or Hotwire, do I get the option to increase the length of my stay using the same rate? I've only used Priceline once and got a great deal. Any help or advice is appreciated! Thanks!
AaronJB Posted October 7, 2009 Report Posted October 7, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)One cannot try to get a particular hotel using PRICELINE or HOTWIRE (although especially with HOTWIRE.) Are you interested in only the Grand Hyatt, or would you be willing to accept other properties?Additionally, as you mention, while there could be a drop in prices closer to the dates, the price could also go the other way, and can certainly do so suddenly.HOTWIRE does not allow one to extend your stay. However, PRICELINE does have such a feature - but the option to extend at the same rate is not always available, and sometimes the "extend" offer may be at a higher price (a discount still, but a higher price than the initial reservation.)What would be your budget per night, and what are the dates of travel? Please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links.
