Hotwire Hotel: need help to ident Hotwire 4.5* in Cabo

Hello all! First off, great site! i have heard some horror stories about booking hotels this way, but am willing to give this a try and form my own opinion. So hear goes

4.5* Cabo san lucas

Suite

Beachfront

Fitness center

Pool

Restaurants

$84.00 per night for two adults and one child. Also...

4* Cabo San Lucas

Flights are already booked for November 26th thru to december 9th, I would love to get a bit of information before I use the links on this page.

For the 4.5*, the Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach was last reported without a Suite icon, but prior reports show it with a Suite, thereby matching it with the above, and that would be my best guess for that property.

Not sure of the 4*, but if i were to take a guess, i'd think the Pueblo Bonito Rose with a few amenities 'missing' since last reported.

Since this is an extended stay, you could see if the same hotel(s) appear when searching for only the first (or last) nite of your stay, and then again for the balance (based upon the amenities, star rating, and any other clues HOTWIRE may provide). If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain' and learn the name of the hotel... if you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites; if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay.

Hello all!!

I enjoy this site and wish to contribute so that it stays feasible for you to operate. My wife has "decided" (more like told me) that we should stay at the Royal Solaris Los Cabos all-inclusive because of the large amount of stuff for kids to do(we have a 4 year old). How would I go about booking this hotel through your links so that you recieve some sort of compensation? Hotwire seems like a crap shoot, but priceline seems somewhat feasible. I just don't know if I should bid and pray, or just purchase.

It appears you're refering to 3 different services:

HOTWIRE

PRICELINE 'name your own price'

PRICELINE 'retail'

With HOTWIRE you can see if the amenities previously associated with the Royal Solaris, along with any confirming information, appear for your dates. There would be a risk that you 'guessed' wrong, but at least it gives you the ability to make an educated guess.

PRICELINE "name your own price" would be a complete crapshoot... 'bid and pray' as you put it. No telling which hotel at the star rating you select you will receive. However, PRICELINE doesn't typically offer 'all-inclusive' options on their 'name your own price' service so the Royal Solaris Los Cabos is probably not a viable result.

PRICELINE "retail" will let you choose the hotel and know exactly what it is that you are purchasing. If the Royal Solaris Los Cabos is the only hotel your wife wants then you should probably book thru a non-opaque source such as this so that you know exactly what you're getting. Besides PRICELINE you can also try Expedia and see if the coupon code 10OCT will give you $10 off per nite for this property.
