I'm looking for 2 rooms in New York - Times Square from 10/24/09 - 10/27/09. I would like to be around $200 per room per night for a 3* hotel. The west side of Times Square is better for me...

Can anybody make any suggestions? I've never used PL or HW. Help! :)

Start here with I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire Before which will explain the similarities and differences between the two services.

Also, not sure of your specific needs or why you only want to be in this particular needs, but i'd also suggest reading our comments regarding Hotels Near Times Square.

Thanks for the advice. I'm open to other areas, but we do have to travel to the Javits center each day and to Rockefeller Center one day as well. This is an annual trip for work, so Times Square has become kinda routine. I'm open to most everywhere though.

Could you please help identify the following hotels from Hotwire 10/24-10/27 ???

1. Central Park Area 3* - Fitness Center, High Speed Internet for $193

2. Times Square - Theatre District 3*- Fitness, Restaurant, Internet $209

3. Times Square - Theatre District - 3.5* Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet $219

4. Midtown Central - 3.5* - Fitness, Restaurant, Internet $219

5. Chelsea - Madison Square Garden 3* - Comp. Breakfast, Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet $223

What would be your recommendation out of all of these? Do you think I would do better on priceline?

Thank you!

If price is your most important consideration then PRICELINE is usually going to give you the better deal. If having a guess at the hotel (and therefore a guess as to the location within the zone), knowing the ameniteis offered, and potentically seeing user reviews is the most important, than HOTWIRE is a better, although slightly more expensive, option.

You can read more about this in the thread linked above, I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire which does a good job explaining the similarities and differences between the two services.

Which serves your needs better for this stay?

I would say that having a guess at the hotel (and location within a zone) is slightly more important to me. Is there a way to identify these hotels?

1. Central Park Area 3* - Fitness Center, High Speed Internet for $193

2. Times Square - Theatre District 3*- Fitness, Restaurant, Internet $209

3. Times Square - Theatre District - 3.5* Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet $219

4. Midtown Central - 3.5* - Fitness, Restaurant, Internet $219

5. Chelsea - Madison Square Garden 3* - Comp. Breakfast, Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, Internet $223

Thank you so much for your help!

The site does have a list of reported HOTWIRE wins for NYC at this priceline hotel list. Please let us know if you need help confirming. Additionally, if you have to be at the Javits Center, wouldn't Central Park be a bit too far? Some of the hotels in the CP zone can be quite far up on the Upper East/West side.

The 3.5* TS would appear to be a possible match for the Millennium Broadway; if so, that would be a fine choice, as it's in-between the Javits and Rockefeller, although somewhat closer to Rockefeller.

The 3* TS is likely the Washington/Jefferson, and for $10 more I'd much rather choose the possible Millennium Broadway.

3* Chelsea is likely the Wingate.

3.5* MTC = likely Club Quarters Midtown.

3* CP has not yet been reported to the board/ID'd.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
