Priceline Hotel: 3.5* NYC (MTE) Roosevelt Hotel

Well we managed to get the Roosevelt Hotel New York in Midtown East (I think it's East) for $155 a night after several tries, today Oct. 5.

Price per night $155 for 4 nights Nov. 11, 12, 13, 14; Taxes/fees $128.68; booked Monday Oct 5, 09. I think it is interesting that if you go into the searches on Priceline and try to look Roosevelt Hotel NY up by name and by looking at all hotels in the Midtown area, you won't find it....yet many people have been winning with this hotel. I hope that isn't a bad sign. The pics look great that I've seen, but I've also seen some less than stellar reviews about room quality, service, etc.

On Oct 4, 09 bid 3 times and didn't win any: tried and failed in the following order:

3.5* MTW $130

3.5* MTE MTW $140

3* MTW MTE Times Sq Theatre Dist $145

Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your results with the board.

This is an excellent win for a tough time period - the Roosevelt gets mixed-to-good reviews on tripadvisor, but I think the issue w/reviews on tripadvisor is that many of those people paid full price - which can be as much as 50% higher - and their expectations can differ.
