Hello all,

An old class mate of mine is a pilot and I'll be

flying on his scheduled flight to LA. the crew is booked

at the HYATT REGENCY in long beach. ( a hotel way over my budget.. :) )

I found in Hotwire;

Long Beach 3.5* hotel

9th to 11th November 2009

1 room for one person; 75$ per night.

amenities;

pool

restaurant

business center

guestrooms are equiped with high-speed internet.

could this be the Hyatt Regency??? that would be perfect, but any other hotel

like the Westin, Renaissance or hilton would be fine too (these are all rated 3.5* in hotwire)

and close to the Hyatt.

I'm a bit sceptical however because hotwire says trip advisor gives the Hyatt a 4* rating

and in trip advisor the Hyatt is 3.5*...

I really need to know where this 75$ 3.5* hotel is before I book, as I really would like to

be as close as possible to the crew's hotel for convenience.

All tips will be very appreciated!

thanks Claudius

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Searching HOTWIRE for your dates i see a 3.5* hotel in this zone with the amenities above... but also a Fitness icon. If you do a current search for your dates, do you see a hotel with only the amenities above OR is there als a Fitness icon? If you only see the amenties above, are you searching for more than one room or for more than the default 2adults/0chidlren?

I'm not concerned about what Tripadvisor associates with a given hotel, i want to make sure i'm seeing the same HOTWIRE hotel that you are, and that you have listed all the amenities that HOTWIRE associates wtih the property.

On a current HOTWIRE search are you seeing a Fitness icon in addition to the amenities you have listed above?

The above matches both the Hilton and the Westin so either of these would be a likely outcome... i'd slightly favor this being the Westin.
