JChung Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 I'm looking to book a NYC hotel Saturday - Monday, OCT 10-12.4-star hotel in Midtown East, Midtown West, Times Square regions.I'm willing to go up to $150/night, but would love to find a deal in the lower $100 ballpark. What strategy should I take to try to find such a deal? Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! While your stay is one day shorter than dancerprincess' PRICELINE NYC stay, they have already failed up to $200 for a 3.5* hotel in the zones above... we can suggest a strategy to try if you'd like (since your dates are actually slightly different, but i've been researching these dates and i don't think the pricing is so different for the Friday nite that you will have success whereas they have failed) but i highly doubt that you will be successful around the $150 level... and almost certainly not at around $100.Do you have any back-up plan? Is your budget flexible? Given the unlikelihood of the above being accepted, do you want to also include ESB and/or CPS in your bidding?Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. JChung Posted October 3, 2009 Author Report Posted October 3, 2009 Thanks for your reply. As far as my budget, if at all possible, I'd like to not go over $150/night. Basically, I'm looking for a good deal, but if one can't be found, we have a back-up plan with a relative that lives just outside the city. If a good deal is to be had, however, it would convenient and nice to stay in the city expecially since we'll be toting our 1.5 year old with us...As far as back-up plan, I don't know if this would make a difference, but what if we do a two-night stay instead of three -- Saturday and Sunday night, Oct 10 and 11. Also, yes, I would be willing to consider additional regions --In addition to:ME, MW, TSCPS, ESB, MSGDo you think a deal can be found? Thanks again!
thereuare Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 At the moment, i don't think your budget is enough for a 4* hotel on these dates... but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. Pricing and inventory change all the time.I thought this was a 2 nite stay 10/10-10/12? :) Is your check-out dates 10/12 or 10/13??If you want to try bidding, as you still lookin for only a 4* hotel? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. JChung Posted October 7, 2011 Author Report Posted October 7, 2011 I found another post on this forum that lead me to a Priceline winning bid of $139/night for two nights at Hilton NY -- Oct 15-17, 2010. Thanks, betterbidding.com!
thereuare Posted October 7, 2011 Report Posted October 7, 2011 Congratulations on your success! From your post above i assume you changed your dates to these less expensive nites and were able to purchase the Hilton New York for $139 for 10/15-10/17... or were you able to land this deal for your original dates?Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases and follow-up your threads so that the information can best help other users.Thanks.
