Avamar Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 After reading through all of the threads I searched for a hotel room in NYC, first for 4* and then 3.5* in CPS, ESB, MSG, MTE, MTW and TS, starting around $150 and going all the way up to $215 and was rejected. I then inlcuded DSF, and my first bid of 3.5* at $165 was accepted. Should've started lower, but the cheapest room I could find for that hotel right now for those nights on Marriott.com was $349, so I'm pretty happy. I used the PRICELINE ad in the upper right to book. Final result was 3.5* Marriott New York Downtown, 10/8-10/10 for $165/night.
thereuare Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Considering the much higher rates of midtown, this looks like a decent trade-off for the savings. Not too far from this hotel is a new favorite of mine, if you're looking for a sit-down pizza dinner:Adriennes Pizza Bar54 Stone StNew York, NY 10004(212) 248-3838Pizza is very reasonably priced for the qualify of the indredients used (go for the rectangular 'grandma style' pie starting at ~$16)... although the drinks are a little pricey with drafts starting at $7 and wines at $8 and up.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
