SoxFan1 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 At the end of a major holiday weekend that includes the Thanksgiving parade, official city ceremonies, and start of the Christmas holiday season, many hotels are booked solid these dates (or have increased their rates dramatically). As a mini-honeymoon (getting married Friday, November 27th), we really wanted to spend a couple of nights downtown, but not at rack room (or "discounted" Expedia and Travelocity) rates. After trying unsuccessfully to win a bid over the past two weeks at $89 and $99 in the Mag Mile and Near North areas, I increased my bid slightly and it was accepted.Sunday, Nov 29th - Tuesday, Dec 1st, 2009Hotel Allegro$109 per night accepted bid$260.56 total after taxes. We are very happy with the hotel, location (already have theater tickets purchased), and price. :)
