AE0320 Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 I am planning a short weekend in Savannah the weekend of Oct 23-25. I want to stay in a 3.5 star in the Historic Distric for around $75 at the most. How do I start bidding and what are my chances? I need 2 rooms. Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 3, 2009 Report Posted October 3, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! At the 3.5* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Historic District...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. AE0320 Posted October 12, 2009 Author Report Posted October 12, 2009 I tried bidding on Saturday and even did the 5 re-bid zones and went up to $80. With no luck.Is it possible to try the same bidding on a different day and it would get accepted?Or is it that I won't be able to bid that low?
thereuare Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Rates are a little high for these dates and at the moment i'm guessing it will likely take more than you're currently bidding for a 3.5* property... what is your maximum bid for this stay?Rates do change all the time, so it's possible that a previously rejected amount is accepted in the future, but for that to happen a hotel in the zone would need to lower their threshold for the amount they're willing to accept for a room for your dates of stay.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. AE0320 Posted October 12, 2009 Author Report Posted October 12, 2009 I will drop the star rating to a 3 but we need to be in the Historic District.Any suggestions?
thereuare Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 Is $80 still your maximum bid? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AE0320 Posted October 12, 2009 Author Report Posted October 12, 2009 I'd like to stay around $75 if at all possible.
thereuare Posted October 12, 2009 Report Posted October 12, 2009 At the 3* level you have THREE re-bid zones.
