Priceline Hotel: Barbados in December 4*

I'm looking to book a nice hotel in Barbados 12/28-31. I've bid up to $350 on PRICELINE with no luck on what I am assuming is the Hilton. On Hotwire, it's coming back with a $449 result with the following amenities:

Resort

Suite

Oceanfront

Fitness Center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Laundry Facilities

High-speed Internet Access

Which hotel might that be? And is $450 the best you can do?

I am really scared to book at the cheaper non-chain places since this is a very important vacation (1st time kid-free for an extended trip in 6+ yrs) and don't want to have it be a disaster.

Is it too far out from the actual stay to get a better rate?

The HOTWIRE hotel above is a match for the Crane Resort and Residences so that would be my best guess.

My guess is that this is a very expensive time of year and rates are reflecting this... it's winter recess for schools so lots of families opt to take vacation during this time of year, as well as a slow time for many businesses, 'use it or lose it' vacation policies, etc... it's just an easy time to go away.

I too am trying to get a 4* in Barbados but in mid December. So far Priceline has rejected all my offers but with the counter offers I have been getting it looks like I may be able to get the room for under $200. When I go to the Hilton site the room is $229 so if I had to guess it looks like the Hilton would probably be the hotel I'm bidding on but unfortunately I'm not 100% sure.

Has anyone been able to get a 4* win with priceline in Barbados?
