Hotwire Hotel: Need help for NYC 11/25 - 11/28

Hi,

We are a group of 7 people and intending to stay in New York City for 3 nights 11/25 - 11/28. We would like to stay within the Times Square area and looking for hotels 3 star and above? We just want to get the best price possible within the location. Any tips whether to use HOTWIRE / PRICELINE bidding? Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

Are you interested in TS only? TS is generally the most expensive area to stay in, and widening your search to include at least a couple of the surrounding areas (MTE, MTW) may better your chances.

Additionally, PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed - how many rooms were you looking to bid for?

What would be your budget per room/per night?

Yes, I am interested in TS mainly as I would prefer a good location.

I am looking for 2 rooms actually and my budget is about $300-$350 a night/room, possibly a little more. Do you think I can get a room of 3* and up in TS with this budget at 11/25-11/28? If not, which other area do you recommend to add? Since PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed, i guess HOTWIRE is a better bet since i am getting only 2 rooms. Do you have any suggestion what should i do?

Start by searching HOTWIRE for 2rooms/7adults and see if anything is offered in your desired zone, star rating, and budget... from there we'll see if we're able to identify the offering(s).

I'll also add that there are plenty of good locations in NYC outside of Times Square (it may even be preferable to be outside of Times Square). See our comments here: Hotels Near Times Square... but it's your stay and you need to be comfortable with whatever zone(s) you decide to choose.
