Priceline Hotel: 3* New Orleans (Airport MSY) Four Points

Tried up to $100 in French Quarter/Downtown/Convention Center with absolutely no luck.

From what I could tell, the problem is availability for Saturday night, 10/17 - Tulane plays Uni of Houston on Saturday, then there's a Saints game on Sunday, the "Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival" on 10/17-10/18 and at least two large conventions in town that weekend.

Finally decided that I would rather save some cash than hole up in a crappy hotel just to be in town - and bid in the airport zone.

Glad to see your plans were flexible enough that you were able to change your zone in order to find a deal that met your budget... hope you can make the aiprort zone work for you without too much inconvenience. Note that there is a bus that goes from the Airport towards Downtown (drops off in front of the library, which will at least get you close to Downtown/French Quarter and cheaper (but less convenient) than a taxi).

There is a character limit on the topic titles, so the format we use to make sure that everything fits is as follows:

TOPIC TITLE: Star Rating City (Zone) Hotel Name

SUB-Title: $xx ... m/d/yy-m/d/yy

With the above everything usually fits well.
