PPhloyd Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Tried up to $100 in French Quarter/Downtown/Convention Center with absolutely no luck. From what I could tell, the problem is availability for Saturday night, 10/17 - Tulane plays Uni of Houston on Saturday, then there's a Saints game on Sunday, the "Crescent City Blues & BBQ Festival" on 10/17-10/18 and at least two large conventions in town that weekend. Finally decided that I would rather save some cash than hole up in a crappy hotel just to be in town - and bid in the airport zone. Thanks again to the forum and the members. As always, I used this site's PRICELINE link to begin my bidding!Cheers!Pphloyd
thereuare Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 Thank you for sharing your results with the board.Glad to see your plans were flexible enough that you were able to change your zone in order to find a deal that met your budget... hope you can make the aiprort zone work for you without too much inconvenience. Note that there is a bus that goes from the Airport towards Downtown (drops off in front of the library, which will at least get you close to Downtown/French Quarter and cheaper (but less convenient) than a taxi).I think the bid price and dates of your stay were cut-off in the topic title, can you please add them in a reply to this thread so we can add this information to the topic title and enable your win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay. PPhloyd Posted October 1, 2009 Author Report Posted October 1, 2009 My apologies. I was trying to indicate that my winning bid was $45 for the Four Points Sheraton between 10/17/09 and 10/19/09 (two nights).
thereuare Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 No problem... thanks for the follow-up!There is a character limit on the topic titles, so the format we use to make sure that everything fits is as follows:TOPIC TITLE: Star Rating City (Zone) Hotel NameSUB-Title: $xx ... m/d/yy-m/d/yyWith the above everything usually fits well. Thanks again.
