Priceline Hotel: 4* St. Louis (Downtown) Hyatt Regency

Went to priceline 4 hours before checking in. First bid accepted. Confirmation came almost immediately.

Total came to just under $100. Good hotel, good location.

Best prices for Hotels listed at 4* were several Marriott Properties at $79-$99, don't remember the Hyatt's prices.

At 3* the Millenium at $59 was the cheapest.

Taxi driver did complain that things were dead that weekend and offered to drive me around for a contract rate.

It's amazing the weath of info you can obtain from taxi drivers... they often have a pulse on many things due to the large number of people they meet. It has also been said that you can guage the economy from the amount of tips that they receive... i guess we can add the hotel market to that as well.

Glad you had a nice stay and were able to save some money as well.
