Islander7 Posted October 1, 2009 Report Posted October 1, 2009 $75 was first bid, 4* Millenium-Loop-Grant for Sunday 10/11 and Monday 10/12. Bid was accepted for Palmer House Hilton. I linked to PRICELINE through this site. I'm taking my son out for a college visit and had planned to go Saturday and leave Monday and bids for 3.5* and 4* time were not accepted for $65 and $70 (I added Hyde Park where there were no 3.5* or 4* to get the extra bid.) Then I did some research on won bids and read an email saying that hotels were really expensive on 10/11 and no one was winning Priceline bids because of the marathon on Sunday. So changed my dates and raised $5 and won. I've never been to Chicago before so no expectations. Like most 4* hotels that offer rooms on Priceline some people are happy and some are not. For the price I'm sure it will be great. I've spent twice as much to stay at a Hampton Inn outside Buffalo so it's got to be better than that. Thanks for all the useful information on this site. At work today I said I was hoping to get a hotel in downtown Chicago for $60 and my co-workers laughed. I think I got pretty close.
