golf4life80 Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Hey all, I'll first say this site seems to be a great resource I will for sure be using in the future as well as this booking. I'm looking to book a hotel with the above info. This seems to be the best deal in my search for 2 people:4* Magnificent Mile Area - Streeterville Hotel - $112/NightAmmenities:Fitness CenterPoolRestaurantBusiness CenterInternetTennis NearbySpaThis appears to be the Swissotel after doing some research on here. Can anyone help verify this? There doesn't appear to be any better deals on the search (with at least 3 stars). Also, any advice as to what this hotel is like is greatly appreciated. I am familiar with Chicago and this specific area, just not any of the hotels in the area. Any info about parking, extra costs (pool etc.)? Thanks in advance and I will be using the HOTWIRE links on this site!(another note...what's with the "Tax recovery charges & fees" listed on the booking page???)
thereuare Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! The above is a match for previous reports of the Swissotel so that would be my best guess. The "Tax recovery charges and fees" are the hotel taxes on your room as well as a HOTWIRE booking fee (~$6-7/nite)Thanks in advance for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
golf4life80 Posted September 29, 2009 Author Report Posted September 29, 2009 Just booked this trip and it was of course the Swissotel! Thanks again and I used the HOTWIRE link.
AaronJB Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 The Swiss is a very nice property right near where the river meets the lake. While HOTWIRE and PRICELINE reservations are definitely not guaranteed any upgrades, many of the rooms at this property offer some sort of view - if not a lake view (which is an upgrade), at least some sort of city view is probably likely. Michigan Ave. is a couple of blocks West - and the bridge is right there. To the North and you're in the Michigan Ave. shopping area - to the South is Millennium Park/Art Institute.
