xman7 Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 Did a PRICELINE bid for a 3.5 star class at $55 in the reliant arena/medical center and did not match. Tried again changing to 3 star and $50 and got the Residence inn by Marriott in West University. Great stay in a suite, queen bed, kitchenette and living room area, flat panel 32 inch LCD TV, very clean bathroom with nice granite wall tiles and sink countertops, close to a bunch of restaurants and grocery stores (but you likely would rather drive the few blocks because the humidity is ubearable for a walk). Great experience for first time priceline use. Seeing others experience in this forum helped me take the plunge. * note: despite a $50 baseline bid, priceline did warn that there would be an additional $14 or so in city taxes on top of that, so the real total was around $64. No complaints as I was warned prior to clicking "ok" and making the pruchase, but think it would make more sense to include the taxes in your initial total bid.
