Have been increasing my bids for Seattle downtown-Pike Place 3.5-4* . Today my $82 was rejected, but I was invited to bid again 'right now' for $22 more. My guess is, this $104 would have been a 4*, but a bid in the $90s tomorrow might be accepted. However, I decided to go with a 3.5* on Hotwire for $95 (was $89 a couple of days ago); got the Crowne Plaza.

It is the only 3.5* in the Pike Place Hotel area so not totally necessary.

I am looking as well and will confirm ammenities anyway if I opt for it.

You can't say for this with certainty, and even if this is true today, it may not be true tomorrow. A new hotel can get added to the HOTWIRE universe of hotels, a 3* hotel could be upgraded or a 4* hotel could be downgraded.

You should never make a hotel ID based upon star rating alone.
