Am looking to stay Sat night 10/3 checking out Sun 10/4. Thinking of bidding on 3* in Millenium park_Loop. Can someone recommend where to start bidding? Don't see wins in this territory for 3* in recent history. Have bid up to $76 for 4*, North Michigan Ave with no win for this date. Have bid up to $75 for 3* North Michigan Avenue for this date, with no win yet. Thanks!

Personally, I'd recommend trying for a 4* in this zone instead for $75, as a few hotels in the MP/Loop/GP zone often come up with quite reasonable rates (mainly, the Hyatt, which needs to fill its 2,000+ rooms.)

The only known 3* in the MP-Loop-GP area is the Club Quarters Loop. The 3.5*'s are a mix of the nice (the new Doubletree Wit), the nice but not well located (the Allegro), the average (Club Quarters Wacker), hotels that never seem to come up as wins (the Silversmith) and the not-so-hot (Hotel 71). However, there generally aren't many 3.5* wins reported to the board, as some of these properties really aren't seen that often and there's the fact that a few of the 4* properties (The Hyatt, the Palmer and, to some degree, the Hilton Towers), are aggressive with their pricing. I don't think there'd be a difference - if there was availability at the 3* or 3.5* level - with 4* in this zone.
