Traveller-88 Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Thanks to the postings of other bidders, I started at $90.00 for a 5* Frankfurt (East) with the idea of cutting the counter-offer by 50 percent and adding a dollar. However the offer came back to increase by $22.00 that I accepted to make a total of $112.00.Room $112.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees $29.39 (USD)Total Room Cost $141.39 (USD)I requested an early check-in, non smoking King Size bed. however on arrival 0800 am (overnight flight) the front desk advised no rooms in my category (Priceline?) were available however by paying an extra 40 Euros($59.00 USD) more they could upgrade me immediately to a higher category. I decided to wait for several hours for my confirmed room and not pay the upgrade. That being said, regular check-in is stated as 2pm, the Frankfurt International Auto Show was on, so I was fortunate to BetterBidding, other posters and Priceline, to confirm a very good rate at this popular Hotel.
AaronJB Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Congratulations on your success and welcome to the site. :)Looks like a superb deal - an especially nice rate considering the Auto Show crowds. I'm guessing the "category" meant "non-upgraded/regular" rooms.Thank you for sharing your results with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.Enjoy your stay.
