I'm new to bidding on PRICELINE and was wondering how much I should bid for a 3* hotel in Palm Springs, CA from 10/24/09 until 10/27/09. I know they show the "retail price".... should you base your bid on that number? How low should you bid starting out? Also, how long does it take to know if your bid is accepted or rejected? I dont want to stay at a resort, is it possible they will give me a resort hotel or do you have to specify that when you bid? Thanks.

Around $65 a night. How long does it take for a response on Priceline to know whether or not it was accepted? If I dont request a resort will they still give me one?

The star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept, so you can be ugpraded to a higher rated hotel (this includes Resort class properties) on your 3* bid. Is this a concern?

when you bid on Priceline do you enter the amount per night or the total amount you are willing to pay for your stay?

Per night (for example, if you wanted to bid $65 a night, you would enter $65.)
