thegptgirl Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 I'm new to bidding on PRICELINE and was wondering how much I should bid for a 3* hotel in Palm Springs, CA from 10/24/09 until 10/27/09. I know they show the "retail price".... should you base your bid on that number? How low should you bid starting out? Also, how long does it take to know if your bid is accepted or rejected? I dont want to stay at a resort, is it possible they will give me a resort hotel or do you have to specify that when you bid? Thanks.
thegptgirl Posted September 27, 2009 Author Report Posted September 27, 2009 Can anyone tell me what hotel this is? Its a 3* hotel Rancho Mirage- Palm Desert Hotel from 10-24-09 until 10-27-09 for $49 a nightThe amenities are:-Complimentary Breakfast-Fitness Center-Pool-Laundry Facilities-High Speed Internet Access
AaronJB Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Welcome to the site. This would likely be the Country Inn and Suites Rancho Mirage. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
AaronJB Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 What would be your budget per night for hotel?
thegptgirl Posted September 28, 2009 Author Report Posted September 28, 2009 What would be your budget per night for hotel?Around $65 a night. How long does it take for a response on Priceline to know whether or not it was accepted? If I dont request a resort will they still give me one?
thereuare Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 You will get an answer almost instnantly (30-45 seconds after you click the "BUY MY HOTEL NOW" button)The star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept, so you can be ugpraded to a higher rated hotel (this includes Resort class properties) on your 3* bid. Is this a concern?Did you want to go for the 3* HOTWIRE property aboe or try bidding on PRICELINE? (with a $65 maximum bid??)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
thegptgirl Posted September 28, 2009 Author Report Posted September 28, 2009 when you bid on Priceline do you enter the amount per night or the total amount you are willing to pay for your stay?
AaronJB Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Per night (for example, if you wanted to bid $65 a night, you would enter $65.)Thank you for using the site's PRICELINE link.
