Hotwire Hotel: 4* Reno - Tahoe (Reno) Atlantis Casino

Okay, after reading posts on this board, I was certain the hotwire hotel I was looking at was the Atlantis and it was. $37 for a Saturday night, not too bad. I'm not posting the Hotwire description, as it was exactly as posted in other posts.

But, can someone explain the "motor lodge" concern listed in previous posts? Buying the room over Hotwire, can't the hotel stick you in any room they want? One of the other posts said to be sure to complain to Hotwire if they do stick you in the motor lodge section. Will this do any good? I think star values are primarily based on the hotel ammenities, so as long as you still have access to all the ammenities I suspect they would still argue that you were in a 4* joint.

I actually don't care too much as I mostly just need a cheap place to crash while skiing for the weekend, but if I can ensure a better room, why not?!

Most times we don't have much recourse with inferior rooms :) however, in this case we actually may...

I am pasting the details below from their website. This is not the same as where a Hilton let's say puts you in an inferior room. With the Atlantis, you can either book the 4* section (Tower) or the "budget" Motorlodge ...

It should be the same as at the 4* Waldorf=Astoria in NYC where the Waldorf Towers is treated separately as a 5*and you can bid for it through priceline separately.

Hotwire is selling you a 4* so you should therefore be entitled to a tower room and have a great basis to make a claim if you get lodged based on what is written in Atlantis's website below. My own experience with Hotwire is they handle claims/complaints very fairly.

The reviews on tripadvisor talk about the poor quality of the "motor lodge"... which is the reason for my concern.

Personally, because of the unique situation with this hotel, I would contact Hotwire first .. and hope they come up with an answer.

Okay, I took your advice and I sent an email to Hotwire basically asking if I was assured of staying in the 4* section of the hotel as I bid on a 4* property, rather than in the separate motor lodge building.

And...I've already received a response from Hotwire. In short, it said they contacted the Atlantis and I am booked in the luxury tower. So all is well. :)

Can you please list the amenities that Hotwire shows before purchase... you can still view these by clicking the MY ACCOUNT link on the top right corner of Hotwire's home page. In the past this hotel had a shuttle icon associated with it along with some other icons that i don't think are continuing to appear, so please let us know so we can continually update our lists and provide the most accurate information as possible.
