any suggestions on how I can get the W Lakeshore to show up in my search?

Desired travel dates are October 7 till October 11.

I read about a tip choosing "3 adults" in the search and the W might show up.

Whats that all about?

HOTWIRE will only show one hotel (the least expensive) at each star level in each zone. Sometimes you can get different hotels to appear by changing the occupancy levels since the lowest priced hotel may only be available for double occupancy, so by switching to triple/quad occupancy the 'next hotel in line' might be shown if it allows for more than double occupancy.

Other than trying to change the occupancy, there is nothing you can do to 'make' a specific hotel appear.

Just had another idea: maybe staying at the airport cause it is significantly cheaper...

Can you tell me if 4,5* O'Hare Intl Airport ORD South Hotel is a match for

Intercontinental Chicago O'Hare?

The issue with these dates is that the Marathon is the 11th; Prices from the 7th-10th are not as bad. I would STRONGLY suggest at least staying part of the time downtown and then if you had to, spending the last day or two by the airport. Staying by the airport is NOT fun, nor is the hour-long "L" ride each way. Let us know your thoughts about splitting your stay, and we can make suggestions from there.
