Packer Fan Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 My friend told me about this site today and I think it's great! I'm trying to figure out the Priceline and Hotwire bidding process and would like some advice. My friend and I are visiting New York City from November 4-9. We would really like to stay in Times Square at a 4 or 3.5* hotel for no more than $250/night. Any thoughts on the best way to approach this bidding? Thank you so much!

thereuare Posted September 26, 2009 Report Posted September 26, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!Did you want to try for a 4* first before trying for a 3.5* OR is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better hotel for this stay? Obviously your budget is enough for either (based upon the price of the HOTWIRE hotels above, but not if you're more interested in trying for a higher rated hotel or in a lower price)Also, is there a reason you're only interested in the Times Square zone? Packer Fan Posted September 27, 2009 Author Report Posted September 27, 2009 I talked it over with my friend. We would like to try for a 4* first, before trying for a 3.5*. We would like to still bid in Times Square. It's the tourist in us, I guess! I'm not sure if this is reasonable, but we would like to try staying under $250 (including taxes). Any suggestions on a PRICELINE bid? Thank you!!
Packer Fan Posted September 27, 2009 Author Report Posted September 27, 2009 These are my Times Square options on Hotwire:Wednesday, November 4-Monday, November 94.0*$249/nightFitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High-speed Internet Access, Spa ServicesTripAdvisor Rating of 4.0(Looks like it could be W New York - Times Square or The Westin New York at Times Square)3.5*$226/nightFitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center, High-speed Internet AccessTripAdvisor Rating of 4.0(Looks like it could be Millennium Hotel Broadway)3.0*$219/nightFitness Center, Restaurant, High-speed Internet AccessTripAdvisor Rating of 3.5(Looks like it could be Washington Jefferson Hotel)Thoughts on my hotel guesses?Thank you!
AaronJB Posted September 27, 2009 Report Posted September 27, 2009 Agreed on the guesses for all three, although I'd certainly pay a few more dollars to stay at either of the first two possibilities instead of the W/J.Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
thereuare Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Of the above HOTWIRE choices, if within your budget, i'd take the 4* Times Square property... assuming it's either the Westin or the W Times Square, both are great hotels.Did you want to go with one of the above or are you still looking to bid on PRICELINE?Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
