It does not look like a prosperous weekend for bidding in SF.
... unless of course you own a hotel :)

Is this a mandatory or discretionary trip? Do you have a back-up plan? What is your maximum bid?

It is a discretionary trip. I do not have a back up hotel plan yet. Just started looking yesterday. I have tickets to a concert in the city that night and will drive home if I have to but would rather not. I live an hour away.

I am willing to bid up to around $150, maybe $160.

Well you have enough re-bid zones to easily get to your limit... but based upon the rates you quoted above from Expedia looks like availabiltiy will be very tight at the moment.

If you need help with a bidding strategy feel free to ask.

Yes, the weekend looks tough. I just got the Westin San Fran for $200/night

Any ideas what motel this may be for Oct 24-25th @ $134?

2-1/2 * Marina Cow Hollow Pacific Heights

Complimentary Breakfast, Hgh Speed Internet

Is this a one night stay or two, tekob?

The 2.5* has a TripAdvisor rating of 4/5. Comfort Inn on the Bay, Coventry Motor Inn, and Chelsea Motor Inn are all possibilities, as they're all 4/5 on TripAdvisor.

Thanks for the clarification, tekob.

Given the possible hotel ID's are you interested in the Cow Hollow 2.5* at $134?

It sounds like you've only bid for a 4* in the four Downtown zones, up to $130.

What about some "intermediate bidding"--like trying for a 3.5* or 3* Downtown or Fisherman's Wharf, maybe 3* in Civic Center--before jumping down from a Priceline 4* to a Hotwire 2.5*? (Although the Hotwire 2.5* has a strong 4/5 TA rating so it might not be a bad choice.)
