Bid and re-bid and re-bid some more, but failed to get a great bargain this time around. Ended up going with Priceline's offer.

Thurs., Oct. 8, 2009: American Airlines -- Depart Atlanta 10AM - Arrive Chicago 11.15AM (1.5 hour layover)...Depart Chicago 12.50PM - Arrive Tokyo, Japan (Narita) 4PM [Friday, Oct. 9]. Returning Tuesday, Nov. 3.

I bid up from $500 in $15 increments using small towns for quick re-bidding near Atlanta and Charlotte. Either ATL or CLT would have been ok. No luck. Settled for $860 Priceline total offer, which is $64 cheaper than lowest American Airlines published price and about $51 lower than most others.
