psgold1 Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 Hi, We're visiting the Boston area 10/1-10/3 for a nieces wedding and plan to see the Freedom Trail on Friday 10/2 in the Quincy Market area (priceline region 9). I'd like to get advice on bidding on hotels in this region or with relatively quick access to this area via public transportation. Priceline regions 9, 5, and 1 look best to me as the subway works well from region 5, and region 9 and 1 also have subway access and may be walkable. Can you recommend a location/bidding strategy if our maximum is about $70-75/night before taxes. We are also looking a hotel where we are likely to be able to get two beds and have access to inexpensive or moderately priced restaurants in the vicinity. Obviously the nicer hotel the better. Also, does it make sense to bid on the first night separately and then try to extend if I get something I like or am I more likely to get something I like if I bid on two consecutive nights? Thanks for any advice you can provide.
thereuare Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding!A quick look at current rates and i think you may have a tough time finding anything in these zones for $75 or less... what star rating are you trying for? Have you checked hotel direct rates for these nites? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. psgold1 Posted September 25, 2009 Author Report Posted September 25, 2009 Higher star ratings aren't critical. I don't need anything super fancy, just a safe, clean place where I am likely to be able to get two comfortable beds that is relatively convenient for getting to downtown boston. I thought about cambridge and south boston but would prefer to stay as close as possible. Thanks for your help. Peter
thereuare Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 Have you checked hotel direct rates for these nites?Have you checked rates thru traditional booking channels... what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels?...where I am likely to be able to get two comfortable beds...As well, you can't guarantee two beds with PRICELINE. If you need two beds searching HOTWIRE for triple/quad occupancy would be a better option, but i don't see anything that within your budget. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
