ckwill Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Started bidding a few days ago at a little under $100 for a 4* preferably in Central Rome, but Vatican City was also acceptable. No 4* free rebids in Rome, so had to use a couple accounts and the alternative Vatican City district to slowly increase my bid. After first bid, was immediately offered a guaranteed bid of $190 in the Central region or $209 in Vatican City. I knew I would have to get close to those rates to get one to take, but the other hotels I was looking out (outside Priceline were about $240-$270 per night). As I increased my bidding, I still received the same auto rebid offers until I got to $165 and then they just offered an immediate rebid with an increased bid of $25. Received this same message at $170. Finally, my bid was accepted at $175.
