paly1 Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Hi All...Planning to head into Boston on 10/3/09 for 5 nights...1st choice of stay would be Brookline/Brighton 3* Courtyard....2nd - downtown Boston/Copley/Waterfront Financial....Any ideas on what to bid for 3* brookline or 4* the other areas - need 2 roomsThanks V much!Paly:)
thereuare Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 First, you can't bid specifically on the Courtyard... you'd be bidding on any 3* or higher hotel in that zone. Are you still ok to bid this zone? Were you looking to bid for a 3* hotel up to your limit and then try for the other areas or were you looking for the least expensive hotel in the areas you've selected? Also, there is no "Downtown" zone in Boston on PRICELINE, please confirm the zone(s) by PRICELINE name. What is your maximum bid for this stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. paly1 Posted September 24, 2009 Author Report Posted September 24, 2009 Sorry let me clarify...1st choice - Brighton/Brookline area - there is only 1 3* in that area and that is identified as the Courtyard Marriot...So if I got the 3* in that area I'd be happy - have to go down to 2 1/2* or 2* and would get a choice of 2 others which I know are not great so not going to go there!!2nd Choice - 4* Downtown Boston Copley Square/Theatre District or Quincy Market - Faneuil Hall - FinancialI would have liked to have got the Brookline hotel for under $100 and the other choices under 120....
thereuare Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 1st choice - Brighton/Brookline area - there is only 1 3* in that area...There is only one 3* hotel reported to the board... there could be others.Given the above, do you still want your first attempt to be for a 3* hotel in the Brighton/Brookline zone with a $100 bid limit? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. paly1 Posted September 24, 2009 Author Report Posted September 24, 2009 Yes I know but I know the Brookline/Brighton area well and don't know of any other hotel that exists there that could be 3 or more stars...not many hotels at all there...So I would like to go with this attempt first:)...Would like much less than $100 but that is the limit for that one....Seems rates are crazy in Boston around October time???
thereuare Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 I'd begin with the following:At the 3* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 3* Brighton-Brookline...Bid $51, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $55, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINESelect 3* Brighton-Brookline and re-bid zone2...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $65Any questions feel free to ask. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
