alayk Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I'm taking advantage of being in DC this week for a training to visit the New York area from 9/24 to 9/27. I'm traveling with my wife and we don't want to pay NYC prices so I was looking at a Newark area hotel with free parking and easy access to NYC to see the major tourist attractions. I saw a great price on Hotwire for $59 a night for a 2.5* Newark area hotel and it seems by looking at previous posts that the Country Inn, Comfort Suites, and maybe one more could be the mystery hotel. The amenities are breakfast, shuttle, fitness center, pool, laundry, and internet. Can you advise on which one seems the most likely? Also, any advice on other areas to look at that might suit my purpose better? Thanks!
thereuare Posted September 24, 2009 Report Posted September 24, 2009 I was looking at a Newark area hotel with... easy access to NYCAre you planning on drive into Manhattan or taking mass transit? If mass transit then most of the Newark hotels are not really that covnenient to Manhattan. The Jersey City Waterfront area is the best in terms of easy access to Manhattan, but currently rates are high there fore your dates. After that Secaucus-North Bergern-Meadowlands is usally best, but with some caveats/exceptions... what is your maximum budget for this stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.
