Djvyrus69 Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Not looking for anything overly expensive or ornate, just looking for something that I can have a room with a bathroom to shower and a bed for me and my wife to sleep.I would want a 2.5+ star hotel, and anything south of 90th street is fine with me and I would like to try to stay as close to $100 a night as possible.Any recommendations??
AaronJB Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)Is your budget $100 pre-tax or after tax? Any specific areas you'd be more interested in staying in, or just anywhere under 90th?Please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchase.
Djvyrus69 Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 I'm just looking for under 90th because I was told these are the better/safer neighborhoods.$100 bidding, I understand taxes and such on top of that.
thereuare Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 Please read your messages, then take a look at PRICELINE's zone bounaries... UEW goes up to ~93rd St, do you want to include this zone? UWS goes up to ~105th St, did you want to include this zone? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Djvyrus69 Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 If it considered a good and safe neighborhood, then yes.
thereuare Posted September 25, 2009 Report Posted September 25, 2009 If it considered a good and safe neighborhood...It really depends upon your own personality and background... if you grew up or are used to large cities, then you may feel perfectly fine in these areas... if you're not used to major metropolitan areas then many parts of Manhattan may feel unsafe to you. There are some areas of the UES and UWS i'd prefer not to stay in, while other areas of the same zone i'd be pefectly fine with, but:1) i think the midtown areas are much better for the typical visitor from a convenience point of view2) you're going to be severly limited by your budget, which typically is not enough for NYC this time of yearDo you have a back-up plan if you bid all acceptable zones up to $100 and are rejected? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. Djvyrus69 Posted September 28, 2009 Author Report Posted September 28, 2009 Well I'm willing to go up to $125 a night if need be.

Djvyrus69 Posted September 28, 2009 Author Report Posted September 28, 2009 Well I live in Miami, so me and my wife are absolutely used to big cities, if those areas are passable, I guess I'd be willing to the UES, but not the UWS.
thereuare Posted September 29, 2009 Report Posted September 29, 2009 So i'm assuming that:CPS, Chelsea, Downtown, ESB, MSG, MTE, MTW, TS, UES, and UWS are all acceptable.
