double* Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Hi again,I'm going to stay in NYC from 10/30 to 11/2 with my mom, my mom's friend and my friend (4 persons total)My preference:Option 1: Maximum bid: $120/room/night (at least 3*) any area on Manhattan.Option 2: Is there any possible that we can get a room for 4 occupancy under $250/room/night, and the room is large enough for 4 persons (2 beds)? If both are too tough, I could accept JC and LIC; then the budget may cut to $80 and $150, for option 1 and 2 respectively.Any suggestion or advice? Thanks for helping.
thereuare Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 This marathon weekend and so rates are going to be HIGH... i'm doubtful you'll be able to get 2 rooms at $120 or under (you can try, but i'd be very surprised if you were successful at this point in time)There is no way to ensure quad occupancy with PRICELINE, and in NYC it's not recommended to try.HOTWIRE may be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and guarantees sleeping accomodations for everyone included in your search. If you search HOTWIRE for 4adults there are a few 3* hotels priced with in your budget (and a few slightly over)... is anything there of interest? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Le tus know how youd' like to proceed and we'll take it from there. double* Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 Thanks for the advice and the information of the marathon event. The price seems far from my expectation so I give up bidding this time and reserve hostels, instead.Thank you again. :)
thereuare Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 So where did you end up booking a hotel... if PRICELINE / HOTWIRE were going to be more than your budget, i'm not sure where you were able to find something at the prices you expected.
