pistol Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 NYC - Downtown - SoHo areaDates: 17 - 22 November 2009Looking for ID two hotels;2* ($147 per night) 2.5* ($205 per night)cheers!
thereuare Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 for help with these properties please list the amenities associated with each. However, are you familiar with NYC and/or do you have a specific reason to stya in ths zone? Downtown isn't the most centrally located place for the average visitor and i would think you would likely be able to find better value elsewhere in the city. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. pistol Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 i've just re-checked on hotwire for my dates and the prices have dropped slightly. so not sure if they are the same hotels with lower rates or a newer hotel.anyway, the new rates are:Downtown - SoHo Hotel (same dates)2* ($145 per night) - no amenities listed for this one2.5* ($199 per night)- breakfast, fitness, internet this is my first time in NYC and some friends of mine have said its a nice area away from the crowds etc of NYC. i prefer it that way!
thereuare Posted September 23, 2009 Report Posted September 23, 2009 The 2.5* has not yet been identified or reported to the board. The Windsor Hotel has previously been reported to the board at the 2* level with no amenities, but with 'no amenities', it's impossible to tell whether this is likely the same hotel or a different property that doesn't show any amenities.HOWEVER, i'd highly recommend you reconsider your zone selection....While Soho may be quiet (at times) this zone also includes the Financial District which will also be quiet, but likewise will be somewhat 'out of the way', especially for a first time visitor to the city. Downtown is certainly do-able, but usually only worthwhile when the price is right, and in this instance it's not only less convenient than midtown, but more expensive as well. Also, we don't typicallyl recommend NYC hotels under 3* unless you have a very good guess as to what you think you'll be getting. Even if the 2* above is not the Windsor, it could be of similar quality as to what you will receive, and you can see the reviews HERE are less than stellar. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.
