Hotwire Hotel: HELP: 3.5 star, Galveston, TX

Needing a little help thereuare (or anyone familiar w/ this zone.) Galveston is listed as one zone and I'm looking at 3.5 star w/ the following amenities:

Hotel, Near Beach, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness Center, Golf Nearby, Tennis nearby, Business Center

$80 1/19-1/20/05

Maybe the Hotel Galvez????? I have no familiarity w/ this area and am going on a hunch. I don't know if there are any other 3.5 star hotels in this area. I'm assuming that the Tremont might be but it isn't near the beach so I'm guessing this isn't it???

This hotel has not yet been identified. The Galvez is a likely candidate, but the Moody Gardens and the Hilton could be an outside possibilities as well.

If you go for it let us know how it goes and/or whatever you end up doing for this stay.

Yeah, I was starting to think that maybe they were candidates too. I think both would probably be nice enough properties. I'll post my results if I decide to go for it.

Hi pjmystic -- I'm also very interested as we want to stay in Galveston for two nights, Jan 7-9th pre-cruise. I've found where the Hilton has a non-refundable $99 rate and the Galvez also has a non-refundable rate of $125 bookable on their websites. Am hoping for a better price and will stay tuned to this thread...thanks!

Thanks for the info, that's a big help. I'm going to finally make my purchase in the next few days and I'll post the results.
