de5181 Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 First, thanks for the effort and time you put into this site. It's a great resource to many. I've been stalking Hotwire for several weeks now and one of the listings for 4.5* has gone up by $30-40. I wasn't sure if this was a different hotel or if the rate actually went up that much in a weeks time. Nonetheless, these are the option available for my dates. I'd appreciate your sleuthing to uncover which hotel is which.4* - Mag Mile/StreetervilleNon-smoking, Exercise, Swimming, Restaurant, Internet, Business Center - I'm thinking this is the Sheraton?4* - North Michigan Ave/Water Tower/Gold CoastExercise, Restaurant, Internet, and Business Center4.5* - Exercise, Restaurant, Internet, and Business Center - maybe Inter-Continental or Hilton Conrad? Thanks in advance for your help!
AaronJB Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)The 4* Mag Mile is likely the Sheraton - that hotel is in a wonderful location, but really isn't a favorite property - it's not bad, simply mediocre. The 4* NMA is either the Millennium Knickerbocker or Drake, either of which are more appealing. The 4.5* is either the Intercontinental or the Conrad. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase, and let us know if you have any questions.
de5181 Posted September 22, 2009 Author Report Posted September 22, 2009 The 4.5* ended up being the Inter Continental. The price went down a tad this morning and I jumped on it. Thanks for your help!
AaronJB Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Congratulations on your success!Glad it was the Intercontinental, which is quite a beautiful and historic property. What was the price paid per night? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
de5181 Posted September 23, 2009 Author Report Posted September 23, 2009 Sorry, I forgot to state the price I ended up with - $139 a night. It went up to $143 just 5 minutes later!
