Priceline Hotel: When to book

I need to be in Houston the weekend of the 16 Oct and I am wanting to stay 4 days. About two weeks ago I looked and I could get a flight from Toronto-Houston +4* hotel for around 620. Now, I am seeing that the prices have gone up dramatically for those same dates.

Am I going to be screwed if I wait until next week to book? Now, would it be better just to wait it out a little longer to see if prices drop, or are prices just going to keep going up??

Welcome to the site. :)

There's no way to know, and it varies by city, date and hotel. If traffic starts ramping up (especially if there's something like a convention), so will prices and vice versa. However, if one waits, there's certainly the chance that prices can go against you - and possibly stay high.

What would be your budget per night for hotel?

I'd like to comment that from my experience, it is usually more effective to save money when I think flight and hotel cost separately. Given that your travel date is within the month, I'd think that flight portion of the trip is driving the cost up.
