GraduateStudent Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Hi all,I was wondering if anybody has had much experience with using Priceline for hotels in Regina, SK. I will be there for four days in mid-October and am aiming for a 2.5* or 3* hotel. I am wondering if anybody had any suggestions or had any previous experience to share. My budget is flexible, although I'm hoping to get a good deal (aren't we all). Thanks very much in advance!
thereuare Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! If you look in the Priceline Hotel List there have been a couple of hotels reportes to the board in this area. What is the best deal you're able to find at an acceptable hotel for this stay thru conventional booking channels? What are the actual dates of your stay? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. GraduateStudent Posted September 20, 2009 Author Report Posted September 20, 2009 I will be in Regina from the 13th to the 17th of October. So far, the cheapest rates I have been able to find have been around $130/night for a refundable reservation, or around $110/night for a reservation on Expedia.ca. I'm just wondering if anybody had a good tip of where I'd begin my bidding offers at. I see that there have been a few previous posts, but nothing for priceline in the last few years. Thanks again (and thanks for the welcome). I'm happy to use the provided links as well.
thereuare Posted September 20, 2009 Report Posted September 20, 2009 Based upon your alternate options ($110/$130... for what class of hotel?) how high would you be willing to bid for this stay? A starting bid isn't just based upon where to start, but also how high you're willing to bid.Let us know your maximum bid and we'll then be able to suggest a startegy for you to follow, including a starting bid. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. GraduateStudent Posted September 20, 2009 Author Report Posted September 20, 2009 The $110/$130 is for a solid 2.5* (Holiday Inn Express/Wingate by Wyndham). Given the unpredictability of PRICELINE, and a few sketchy hotels in Regina, I would be probably looking for 3* if they exist in the Priceline system - and would be willing to pay up to $90USD or so for a 3*?At the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zones avaialble. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Regina...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65I would star with the above, and if rejected, increase each of the above bids by $5 every 24 hours. (so the following day you'd bid $70/$75, and 24 hours later $80/$85, etc)Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Any questions feel free to ask.Good luck and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
