mattnbean Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Like Higuy below, I've been trying to book a 3.5* room in this zone, only for 10/3-10/4. Last bid topped out at $117 and was rejected ($120 is the top end of our budget). I'm worried that October's rates might be pushed upwards as I have seem many bookings for below $100 in the past. Any advice on bidding strategy or reality checks would be welcome. Thanks
AaronJB Posted September 19, 2009 Report Posted September 19, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)Unfortunately, Fall in Boston and NYC (as well as a few other major cities) can get quite expensive. You can't go on other wins for other dates, as rates are date-specific, and if there is something going on on these dates, rates are going to be higher (or possibly significantly higher.)Given the rates that I'm seeing in downtown Boston on these dates, unfortunately I think a more reasonable bid is possibly going to be in the $150-175 range, and possibly higher. There is a 3.5* in Cambridge for $115, but not sure if that's too far out of the way. Otherwise, rates do look on the high side in Boston.Let us know your thoughts and we can offer further suggestions from there. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
