sdgirl Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 I won a bid for The Copley Square Hotel from Priceline for $135. I needed two beds for 3 people. Although I know that PRICELINE's policy is that it doesn't guarantee accommodations for more than two adults, I have never had a hotel give me problems of requesting two beds. Upon check-in, the hotel said it would charge $25 per night for a cot and $50 a night for two beds. I ended up paying $185 a night for two queen sized beds and a tiny room. For $185, I would have most definitely gone to a different hotel. Although the hotel is chic and the location is great, be aware if you are traveling with more than 2 in your party and need two beds. The rooms are also the smallest I've ever stayed in so keep that in mind when booking.
AaronJB Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 Thank you for sharing your results with the board and welcome to the site. :)Sorry to hear that the stay didn't go as planned, but it is fairly common for hotels to charge "upgrade fees" for rooms w/2 beds (as PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed), especially in some major cities. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start future purchases.
