I would like to win 3* Holiday Inn Markham for stay from October 7 to 11, 09. First bid was rejected at $40 today. Do not want to pay more than $50 per night. Any suggestions?

Welcome to BetterBidding!

You can't, and aren't, bidding for a specific hotel, but rather at least a 3* hotel in the Markham zone as defined by PRICELINE. Are you 'ok' with a 3* hotel or higher anywhere in this zone?

If not you can try HOTWIRE where you may be able to identify the offering before your purchase based upon the amenities associated with it, but still no guarantees that you'll guess correctly.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

At the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zone. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 3* Markham...

Bid $40, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $45

If the above is rejected wait 24 hours (and please use our link to re-access PRICELINE, not the link in any emails that PRICELINE sends letting you know that you're eligible to bid again):

Select 3* Markham...

Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $55

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Any other suggestions in winning 3* Markham?

Based on this forum 3* Markham area winning bids range between $40 to $50

Rates are date specific, so while $40-$50 may be enough for average demand dates, rates for your dates may be higher (which would typically mean a higher than aveage bid would be nececcessary to be be successful as well)

Rates for your dates are not that high at the moment, but there is a rate change from the first two nites of your stay to the last two nites of your stay... is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? Would you consider raising your maximum bid or would you prefer to just wait it out and try again?

Congratulations on your success!

While not the hotel you were originally hoping for, this looks like a nice deal with included breakfast (and i believe internet as well). Hope this works well for your needs and you're happy with the results.

Thank you for sharing your win with the board.
