So, I'll be going to Chicago South (Matteson) from 10/10/09 - 10/11/09 and I'm looking for a 3* hotel in the area.

Any suggestions on how I should bid/starting bid level?

I'm unfamiliar with the area and prices there, but I don't think it should be too high. If I can get a 4* in downtown Chicago for $70 bid (median price of rooms $250+)...maybe I should start at $25 bid (median price $90)?

I'd say a more realistic starting bid for this area for a 3* is $35.

It doesn't work like that as there isn't necessarily a linear relationship between the prices in two different zones.

If you want to try bidding, at the 3* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)

Bid $38, if rejected add r-bid zone1...

Bid $41, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 3* Matteson and re-bid zone2...

Bid $44, if rejected add r-bid zone1...

Bid $48
