irfan Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 We are planning on visiting NYC for the first time from 10/24-10/28. Looking for tips and suggestions on what areas to bid on. Plan to do the usual touristy things. Willing to bid up to 225$ for either a 3.5* or 4*. Want to be in a safe area and close to the subways, also someplace where we can come back to the hotel and take breaks since we are traveling with a toddler. Thanks
thereuare Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Welcome to BetterBidding! The advice regarding zones will differ slightly depending upon whether you're looking for a 4* or a 3.5*... i think your budget ($225 bid amount and not 'all-in') is probably enough for either, but are you looking for the least expensive 3.5* or better hotel for this stay OR are you wiling to pay more for a higher rated property (ie- try up to your limit for a 4* befoer lowering your star rating)Also, how old is your toddler? Does s/he need a crib or sleep in a bed?Let us know and we'll advise accordingly. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. irfan Posted September 18, 2009 Author Report Posted September 18, 2009 A crib would be nice but not a show stopper. He is 16 months old so he could sleep in the bed with us.

irfan Posted September 21, 2009 Author Report Posted September 21, 2009 Please let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.I will be looking for a better than the least expensive 3.5* hotel. I followed an advise on here and booked the Wyndham in Times Square for 209$ a night using the travelzoo special as a backup, that is a 3.5* so hopefully would like to go for something better than that and around the same price, i.e not more than 200$ (revising from my previous price of 225$)ThanksIrfan
