Ean Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 Hello all! Looking for some assistance. I'll keep it short and quick but please know that I greatly appreciate your responses. My stay detailsBudget: $150-Would like to stay in Manhattan but wouldn't mind staying off the island if the price was right, it was safe, and not too far of a ride. -would like to stay somewhere near midtown (if possible) but we aren't opposed to taking public transport as stated above-I must stay at least one Saturday night (per flight voucher). either Oct 17th or Oct 24th-We want to stay at least 4 or 5 nights-we don't need a terribly nice hotel but we want to feel safe (and have our own bath!)I am SO clueless about NYC! Please Help!

I'd be happy with a 3 star as we don't plan on staying there much. However, as I'd mention previously, I wouldn't mind staying off Manhattan if it would save us some money. But I don't want to spend 45 minutes riding into Manhattan every day. And I want to be safe! Thanks!Ean
Ean Posted June 23, 2010 Author Report Posted June 23, 2010 Decided we needed to have a 100% guaranteed location so we chose a Howard Johnson in queens for $110 a night through Hotels.com.38-71 13th Street, Long Island City, NY. It saved us about $70 per night and it was about a 10 minute subway ride from the heart of Manhattan. Thanks for the help.Ean
