luvspringtraining Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 While others have had success with a 4* in St. Pete Beach (all landing the Tradewinds IG), I wanted to give my unsuccessful attempts to provide further food for thought.Over a two day span by adding zones, I've tried increasing bids by a dollar from $55/night to $65/night all without luck. Possibly the fact that I'm wrapping a weekend is the reason that the previous lower winning bids of $57 and $62 aren't working for me. Or it could be that I'm booking rather last minute for this trip. Who knows?I will certainly update this topic if/when I am successful.
luvspringtraining Posted September 18, 2009 Author Report Posted September 18, 2009 On my third round of attempts, I ended up landing the Tradewinds IG for $71/day ($330.44) for all four days. Started the bidding where I had left off at $66/day and increased a dollar per offer while adding different zones that did not contain a 4* or better. The price on the resort's website is $137/night for the first three nights and $117/night, so I saved almost 50% using Priceline - not too shabby!

cardsfan Posted September 18, 2009 Report Posted September 18, 2009 HI, I just booked the Tradewinds Island Grand thru PRICELINE also. Just so you know for next time, when checking the Island Grands website prices, look them up using code PCLUB. It gives you much better rates . Your dates are listed as $69, $137, $137, $69.That way you have a better idea of what to bid. I got that from joining their free Paradise Club.
