lovethis Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 I bid for several days starting at $42 and going up $1-2 at a time exhausting all the "free chance" areas with no 4* hotels. Finally, I tried $59 after about 4 days of trying and got the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach. I assumed would get the Hyatt from looking at past posts but the hotel is just ok (considering it is a Hyatt - I'll post my review on the other board) so I'm glad we didn't pay rack rates but wished we could have gotten the lower rates we've seen posted. Apparently the hotel was allegedly sold out so that probably explains the "higher" rate I had to bid and that being said I should be lucky I got it at $59.
thereuare Posted September 16, 2009 Report Posted September 16, 2009 Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your previous win with the board.Given the tight availability this seems to have been an excellent deal for this stay, and while perhaps not your hote of choice in the zone, it looks like you received good value for the rate you paid. Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
