vanguy
Hi,I have used HOTWIRE a couple times, but totally new to PRICELINE. I am planning a trip to NYC for late October, and wondering if I should start bidding on PRICELINE now, at the last minute or sometime in between. Does the timing of bidding make a big difference? Also, is $199 a good starting price to bid for a room at a 4* Midtown/Time Square hotel? Thanks,Michael Link to comment

thereuare
These are going to be expensive nites, especially the latter nites. The NYC marathon is Nov 1st and the city begins to bet crowded the days before as runners, their friends/family, the press, etc. all come into town for the events that take place on the days before the run. What is your maximum budget for this stay? Exactly which zones, by PRICELINE name, are you willing to accept? Are you ready to begin bidding now? Please use these PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links to begin your travel purchases. tkpaul
For a good cancellable reservation check out a deal on Travelzoo that is slightly out of your preferred area. The Emire Hotel (4* - UWS, across from Lincoln Center) is $229/night. Blackout begins on Oct. 30, so you should be fine. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Good luck on your bidding. I'm bidding for 10/24 - 10/27. Link to comment
