I am planning a trip to NYC for late October, and wondering if I should start bidding on PRICELINE now, at the last minute or sometime in between. Does the timing of bidding make a big difference? Also, is $199 a good starting price to bid for a room at a 4* Midtown/Time Square hotel?Thanks,Michael

The NYC marathon is Nov 1st and the city begins to bet crowded the days before as runners, their friends/family, the press, etc. all come into town for the events that take place on the days before the run.What is your maximum budget for this stay? tkpaul Posted September 17, 2009 Report Posted September 17, 2009 For a good cancellable reservation check out a deal on Travelzoo that is slightly out of your preferred area. The Emire Hotel (4* - UWS, across from Lincoln Center) is $229/night. Blackout begins on Oct. 30, so you should be fine. There is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Good luck on your bidding. I'm bidding for 10/24 - 10/27.
