osubrutus Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 I have used this site countless times but never posted over the past couple years. I will begin posting my "wins" at this point as I see how it helps everyone. I have ran into an issue trying to book a 3.5/4 star hotel the weekend of October 16th-18th in the NMA or Millenium Park zones. I have bid for several days now topping out at $95 with no success. Is there something going on that weekend that is driving prices up that I am not aware of?Thank You
AaronJB Posted September 15, 2009 Report Posted September 15, 2009 Welcome to the site. :)Are there any recent PRICELINE / HOTWIRE wins you can share?I believe there may be a convention that weekend. However, the other issue is that Chicago is generally more expensive in the Fall. While others may have gotten rates for less for other dates, keep in mind that PRICELINE rates are date-specific.What would be your max budget per night for these dates? HOTWIRE has 4*'s for $169-199 downtown, so $95-100 is unrealistic, but not far off. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchase.
osubrutus Posted September 16, 2009 Author Report Posted September 16, 2009 I am trying to keep my room nights to be in the range of $85-$100 per night. I have bid on 4* and 3.5* in the NMA and Mag Mile zones at the following: $85, $88, $90, $95 and $100 over t past six days with no success. I may have to wait this one out closer to time.
