First bid for 9/18-9/19 and got the Marriott Raleigh City Center for 40! This is perfect since it's very close to the bars I was planning on hitting up :)

Thanks for this site!

Can't believe I missed this thread earlier in the week.

Surely Marriott City Center is a 3.5* hotel on priceline, right?

I was afraid to bid for the 3* because I don't want the Holiday Inn Raleigh-Brownstone hotel. At maybe 11:49pm tonight I placed a bid of $40 for 3.5* Raleigh zone. Bid failed. Darn. Added Raleigh south (which has no 3.5* hotels) and bid $45 at about 11:50pm. Got a message that I can't bid for a hotel on the same night. I guess 11:50pm is tomorrow on priceline?

congrats man on getting that hotel for $40. That's an awesome deal. Wish I could have gotten that as well.

As per the topic title of this thread, and THIS LINK, the Marriott City Center is a 3* rated hotel by PRICELINE.

PRICELINE's cut-off for same day bidding is 11pm, which is why placing a bid at 11:50pm gave you the 'same day' message.

As a Raleigh resident, I'm very intrigued by this. The Marriott City Center is a brand new hotel. I actually thought it was a 4-star, but then discovered it was considered 3 1/2. It is way above Brownstone standards, so if PRICELINE has both of them as 3 stars, then something is very very wrong. I'm wondering if the original poster perhaps got upgraded? I would hate for people to bid for a 3-star in downtown Raleigh thinking they'll get this nice new hotel, and end up on the outskirts of downtown at the Brownstone. (which is okay, but not in the same league or location).
